After mild temperatures, a polar front finally cools things off
Even though winter officially began in mid June, Cafayate has continued to experience spring like conditions with warm sunny days and cool evening temperatures. However, this past week winter officially arrived to Cafayate bringing below freezing temperatures to the entire region. Winters in Salta are generally very short, however this season in particular has been extremely mild. The cold temperatures brought on excitement for many who put on their wool hats and gloves and winter parkas and sparked up the fireplace to stay warm. The Andes were blessed with a slight covering of snow that didn’t last long when the Cafayate sun came out to melt it all away.
