Cafayate is well known for having over 300 days for sun per year, for having warm days and cool nights and for mild breezes. On the weekend of May 15-16, the weather in the Calchaqui Valley lost its place. A cold front from the South moved its’ way North bringing a very unusual mid-autumn shower to the town of Cafayate!
The following day began with a deep blue sky and very few clouds, and to everybody’s surprise, beautiful white snowy mountain peaks! The mountains and the area are quite high, so every so often, the landscape offers a captivating sight for anybody visiting the area.Cafayate es conocida por los 300 días de sol por año, también por sus días cálidos y frescas noches y brizas leves. El fin de semana del 15 y 16 de mayo, el clima en los Valles Calchaquíes cambio. Un frente frio del Sur vino hacia el Norte y trajo una lluvias muy inusuales al pueblo de Cafayate.
El día siguiente comenzó con un cielo azul y muy pocas nubes, y para sorpresa de todos había nieve en los picos de las montañas.
